Cookie Cutter Play Dough Activity
What child doesn’t love playing with play dough? There’s a reason it’s been such a popular toy for so many years.
Not only is play dough excellent for encouraging imaginary play, but it also helps improve fine motor development too. When those tiny hands squash, roll, flatten, chop, poke, and stack the dough, they are strengthening their muscles and tendons. Not to mention, play dough can also increase hand-eye coordination, concentration, and focus.
Play dough is such a versaitle toy that can be used in many ways. Using cookie cutters and rolling pins is a favorite way to play with play doh in our home.
Cookie cutters come in many different shapes and sizes. You can find letters, numbers, animals, ordinary objects, and holiday themed cutters.
Suggested Materials:
- Store bought play doh or homemade play dough
- Cookie cutters in various shapes and sizes (Here is a favorite set of mine with a ton of shapes, numbers, and letters)
